Tapping Into Your Inner Guidance
We all experience moments in our life when we’re not sure what decision to make or which path to take. These moments need not be stressful and instead should be seen as opportunities to tap into our inner guidance that is ready and waiting to provide us with direction and clarity we seek. All we need to do is call upon it.
But how do you connect with that guidance? How do you tap into it, to smooth your path and allow you to shine?
It’s far easier than you think!
You can tap into your brilliance by quieting your mind, and training yourself to be able to hear from your source/soul. That quietness of the mind is the pure place where you are not holding any judgment of yourself, or anyone, or anything else.
For me it is my most blissful place, where I surrender fully so that I am open to receiving guidance, and miracles can take place. It’s something I aim for each day, as it is my source of energy to go after my life’s purpose.
What I find in that quiet place is not always revealed as ‘great big ideas’ but are always the first nudge along the path. That guidance leads me from one thing to another, to another thing until I realise (looking back) that all of these things together guided me to this particular experience or opportunity.
But now, I am sure you’re asking – ‘How do I quiet my mind?’
There are many techniques which you can use to quieten your mind, and each person will have a different, varying degree of comfort with each method. Any one particular method is no better or worse than any other.
Start by trying one method and, if it works, then stick to it, if not, be open to trying another one, knowing in your heart that the right method for you will be revealed to you, and that there is no rush or urgency to ‘find’ the best method.
Just as with everything else in life, each method will prepare you, when you are willing to be open to ‘receive’ the best one. (I have particularly used the word ‘receive’ as I do believe that, when we align ourselves to our inner soul, we will be guided to the right option for us, at that particular moment in our life.
What’s given at that moment is always right for us and as we evolve each day, the next steps and next levels will be revealed to us. The main challenge is maintaining the willingness to keep an open heart, knowing for certain that we will be guided, to allow ourselves to receive impulses at Divine timing for us)
A few examples of some of the methods which we could use to quieten our mind, so that we will be able to receive guidance from our higher self, are meditating, praying, alone time appreciating the blessings in your life, going for a walk alone and in silence, yoga, being outdoors, watching the sun rise, being at appreciative mode and not worrying about what needs to be done during the rest of the day. It’s all up to you as to what works best for you.
Do try this technique of quietening your mind, as wonders takes place when you do so. I have listened to many great inspirational leaders and most of them have in common the practice of allocating a set time to quieten their mind before they start the day.
It can be 10-15 minutes each day or, if you are able to set aside more time, even an hour or more. Its not the duration of the activity which makes the difference, it’s the intent with which you approach it, and the constant practice of it, as a ritual. This time for yourself will help you to have clarity in your day. Each day spent with clarity bring joy and fulfilment to what you do, and many such days added together combine to create a fulfilled life.
Don’t miss the opportunity of receiving the greatest gift that’s available to you every day, every minute.
Will you make a commitment to yourself to use that gift? I hope you do!
We are all driven to do or achieve things on the pretext of thinking that ‘it’ will bring the happiness we need. If you really speak with anyone who has achieved their ‘it’ they will say that, yes, achieving ‘it’ is fulfilling, but their authentic joy was found in the journey, facing challenges and resolving them and moving forward, co-creating with many others who also believe in and are vested in the same journey.
Your inner soul will guide you in every decision that you need to make, and when you make a decision which is in true alignment with your soul, you will have an assurance and confidence within you (not in an arrogant way, but a simple certainty, a knowing that it’s going to be fine). With that certainty, you don’t have the need to explain anything to anyone, or try to convince them of anything.
I always find that, when I am not in congruence with myself when I make a decision, I end up trying to convince others that my decision is good or right etc. (I am really, in that process, trying to convince myself!) When I am in alignment and make a decision, I don’t feel the need to convince anyone of anything, as I know its right for me at that given time.
It’s my truth, and I get the beautiful feeling of clarity to stand in my pure presence, without needing anyone else’s approval from outside myself for me to go ahead and do what my source guides me to do.
Have you had situations like that? Think about them and feel the difference of making a decision in alignment and out of alignment (where you try to convince everyone around you and get everyone else’s approval). I would encourage you to ponder on that and, if you wish, you could journal those moments, and see how you could use your observations to better guide you the next time you face similar situations and decisions.
